That growth left the Valley with two very different kinds of buildings sitting side by side: brand-new Class A spec boxes along the I-78 corridor in Upper Macungie with 36-to-40-foot clear and post-tension slabs, and a deep bench of converted Bethlehem Steel, cement-belt, and Route 22 industrial stock running 18-to-26-foot clear on slabs poured long before anyone was anchoring rack to them.
